Geographic operators for management of a data base for frequency planning
Abstract
The structure of a geographic data base system based on a set of operators which allows an efficient man-machine interaction is discussed. The proposed system approaches the theoretical limit of two bytes for coding the points of a geographic network. Data processing is accomplished by repeating elementary operations on each of the surface elements composing the area of interest, and integrating the results using simple geographic operators. The operators for extraction, incorporation and selection of data are described. It is shown that a simple combination of geographic functions allows the efficient management of a data base with the described structure.
