Influence of flow structure on optical gain in gasdynamic lasers
Abstract
The aerodynamics of small-sized nozzles having a sharp cornered throat and profiles of different shapes are investigated. The difference of flow parameters from calculated ones for all nozzles are shown. High losses of stagnation pressure and the pressure of shock waves in the stream have been observed. The data on the real flow structure effect on the gain measurements in GDL have been obtained. A correlation for the gain for the exit section of nozzles is shown to fit the data.
