A Meksyn series method for the Falkner-Skan equation with mass transfer
Abstract
A Meksyn series method is employed in solving the Falkner-Skan equation with mass transfer. Meksyn solved the Falkner-Skan equation without mass transfer by his series method in 1961. Due to the complexity of the series inverse of the polynomial expansion and the implicit nature of the wall shear stress, no further work has been performed in the case with mass transfer by the Meksyn series method. An (E, q) transformation and a quadratic iterative formula are used in this paper to solve this difficulty. Since the Meksyn series have proven to be convergent, accuracy in the solution can be achieved by increasing the terms of the series.
