Two FDMA demand assignment system concepts for Intelsat
Abstract
Design concepts for a centrally controlled FDMA SPCP demand-assignment system and corresponding thin-route systems for both global and spot-beam antenna coverage are developed for application to the Intelsat network. The system components and operating sequences are outlined; control-channel frame formats are discussed; and procedures for error-correction coding and collision detection are explained. Graphs, flow charts, and diagrams are provided, and the applicability of the concepts presented to TDMA networks is indicated.
