A specialized TDMA network for business services
Abstract
This paper describes the specialized implementation of an all-digital business network as an integral part of a general-services network. The network is virtually dedicated to a high-usage business and is a cost-efficiency compromise between digital SCPC and full-transponder TDMA network. Some of the salient features of this network are: all-digital elements utilizing the highly efficient transmission system over Westar III, sharing a transponder with other virtual networks, transponder-hopping techniques to achieve synchronization with the master transponder, fully connected TDMA network with traffic reconfiguration capability, and integral implementation in the constrained limits of the existing network.
