Equivalent interference bandwidth of a digital satellite carrier
Abstract
The present investigation is concerned with the identification of a new concept, involving the 'equivalent interference bandwidth' of a carrier in a communication satellite network, taking into account the derivation of its value in case of a wanted or interfering digital carrier. It is pointed out that the evaluation of interference between two satellite networks is made in a two-step procedure. The introduction of an 'equivalent interference bandwidth' has the objective to make it possible to obtain detailed interference results without detailed calculations involving the derivation of the 'wanted-to-interfering carrier power ratio' (C/I) of carriers.
