Rigid indented cylindrical cathode for X-ray tube
Abstract
A rigid indented cylindrical cathode for an X-ray tube is described. A cathode assembly for a vacuum tube includes a wire filament, a straight tubular anode parallel to and surrounding the wire filament, insulating spacers for rigidly fastening the filament with respect to the anode. One side of the anode is indented or flattened such that only one portion of the anode is heated to emitting temperatures by the filament.
