COST 204 review of limited scan arrays

The use of multibeam limited scan reflector antennas for simultaneous reception from multiple satellites on geosynchronous orbits is discussed. The development of a 20/30 GHz multibeam antenna for European coverage from a wide band communication satellite is outlined. Feasibility studies indicate that electronically controlled limited scan antennas are a promising means of reducing multipath interference effects in radio links. Limited scan hybrid reflector array configurations to be used for multipath fading reduction are presented.
