Production of energetic neutrals in cometary comae via solar wind interaction
Abstract
Besides photodissociation effect, three other ionospheric processes of generating fast neutrals in the cometary comae are briefly considered. Each of these processes (i.e., solar wind charge exchange, ionospheric ion-molecule reactions, and impact by accelerated ions) could have an interesting effect on the dynamics and structure of the cometary atmosphere.
