Heat transfer in developing magnetohydrodynamic Poiseuille flow with variable transport properties
Abstract
A study is made of the effect of temperature-dependent transport properties on the developing magnetohydrodynamic flow and heat transfer in a parallel-plate channel whose walls are held at constant and equal temperatures. The flow is assumed to be steady, laminar, and incompressible. Representative numerical results are presented to show that the variation of properties may, under certain circumstances, have a significant influence on the development of both velocity and temperature profiles.
