Heat transfer in rotating machinery
Abstract
Energy savings achievable in industrial plant design through application of heat transfer principles to the heat supply and rejection parts of the thermal power cycle are discussed. The need to understand the model parameters of high-turbulence transport phenomena in gas turbines is stressed. Cooling of rotor blade mounting disks is treated. Flow conditions in large alternators are mentioned.
