Construction of a computer-supported flexible production chain for metal components
Abstract
A computerized, integrated, and automated manufacturing system for the production of metal components is discussed. The planning and overall physical design of the system are briefly described. The processing of the components is addressed in detail, including the stamping, cutting, deburring, hot handling, and finishing. The flow of materials in the process is outlined, and the structure and role of the system's computer is considered. The flow of data through the integrated system is shown, and the economic advantages of the system are discussed.
