Bus platform of SEEL
Abstract
A Space Energetics and Environment Laboratory (SEEL) is proposed for utilization on NASA's space station. The technological problems, environmental assessment items, possible missions, and mission requirements of the facility are listed. SEEL will have an unmanned, general purpose free platform or bust platform, whose configuration, structure, and subsystems for attitude control, propulsion, electrical power, thermal control, communications, and data management are described. The bus platform's payload accommodation is also given. SEEL will also have an unmanned maneuverable spacecraft with rendezvous-docking function and manipulator whose requirements and design and the subsystems are summarized. Finally, SEEL's preoperational, operational, and postoperational procedures are outlined.
