Computation of tridimensional gas flow with recirculation and combustion
Abstract
The numerical simulation of ignition and combustion development phenomena in a premixed fluid flow which includes recirculation pockets is undertaken by means of a novel modeling method whose domain is three-dimensional, and represents a section of the flame tube with primary air orifices and a recirculation zone. This numerical model is presently being improved in order to take into consideration separate air and fuel supplies, which require the modeling of a nonuniform mixture ratio subject to fluctuations during combustion chamber operation.
