Re-emission of absorbed energy in varigap negative-electron-affinity emitters
Abstract
The photoemission and secondary-emission efficiencies of negative-electron-affinity cathodes employing III-V solid solutions with variable forbidden gapwidths are calculated. Self-absorption radiation and multiple reflection of the luminescence light from the layer boundaries are accounted for, and an iterative procedure like that of Krutogolov et al. (1981) and Kuriyami et al. (1977) is applied. Numerical results are presented graphically, showing significant reemission effects.
