Spectral distribution of the radiation of krypton-filled high-frequency electrodeless lamps of the coaxial design
Abstract
The spectral distribution of the radiation of krypton-filled high-frequency electrodeless lamps of the coaxial type intended for the optical excitation of Nd:YAG lasers has been investigated experimentally. Expressions have been obtained which relate the radiation efficiency in spectral intervals to the lamp geometry, krypton pressure, and applied electrical power. It is shown that the spectral intervals corresponding to the absorption bands of Nd account for more than half of the total radiation of the lamp in the region 220-1100 nm. It is also shown that the spectral distribution and radiation efficiency characteristics of the krypton-filled high-frequency electrodeless lamps are similar to those of the krypton arc lamps.
