An investigation of the kinetics of processes by the intracavity method according to the change in the intensity of lasing
Abstract
A theoretical and experimental study is conducted concerning the possibility of investigating the kinetics of various processes by using the intracavity laser method on the basis of the change in the intensity of lasing. It is determined that this method can be applied to investigations of processes characterized by absorption linewidths which exceed the widths of the lasing spectra, where traditional methods of intracavity laser spectroscopy cannot be employed. This method can be used in the case of molecular gases to measure the rates of vibrational and rotational relaxation, the intermode and intermolecular exchange of energy, and the rates of chemical reactions.
