Calculation of flow of a viscous fluid using B-splines
Abstract
Navier-Stokes equations for an incompressible fluid are solved numerically using cubic B-splines for approximating functions and their derivatives. A steady solution is obtained by using a variable-direction finite difference scheme. Details of the solution method are presented, and results are compared with those of numerical and analytical studies reported in the literature.
