Rigorous solution of the two-dimensional problem of diffraction by a finite number of curved screens
Abstract
A rigorous solution is obtained to the two-dimensional problem of the diffraction of a plane electromagnetic wave by a finite number of circular cylinders with longitudinal slots. The initial problem in terms of differential equations is reduced to the analysis of an operator equation of the second kind with a fully continuous operator. It is shown that this equation is solvable everywhere in the appropriate space and is equivalent to the initial boundary value problem. This equation serves as the basis for numerical algorithms which make possible an efficient analysis of the electrodynamic characteristics of open multireflector two-dimensional resonators and slot antennas for arbitrary arrangements of the cylindrical screens.
