Calculating the probability of radiation from the dissociated states of diatomic molecules
Abstract
The probability of electronic phototransition accompanying the collision of two atoms was calculated. The main problem is a correct consideration of the relative motion of atoms, which constitutes the specific nature of the phototransition under consideration. The electron motion is assumed to be given (in an adiabatic approximation). The relative motion of electrons is being examined with the aid of the Shroedinger equation. The results obtained are more general than those of the classical theory. The spectral dependence of the probability of radiation during a collision of two atoms was investigated.
