Unsteady stagnation-point heat transfer for a variable freestream temperature
Abstract
The unsteady problem of heat transfer near the stagnation point of flow past a barrier is solved for a periodic stepped variation of the freestream temperature. Relations are obtained for the heat-transfer rate (Nusselt number) at the critical point of a spherical barrier as a function of the criteria Pr, Re, the dimensionless time, and the temperature fluctuation frequency of the flow.
