Second-harmonic generation by picosecond laser pulses in a diffused waveguide with vector phase matching
Abstract
The results of a study of second-harmonic generation in a Ti:LiNbO3 waveguide by picosecond laser pulses are reported. By using a noncollinear vector geometry the system can be adjusted for phase matching (at 90 deg) by simply varying the angle. In preliminary experiments with the waveguide a noncollinear second-harmonic generation was obtained. It is shown that picosecond pumping can be used to produce an intense second-harmonic even if there is a significant deviation from phase matching.
