Results of astrophysical investigations of asteroids (survey) I
Abstract
A review is presented of the results of photometric, polarimetric, spectrophotometric, and radiometric investigations of the physical properties of asteroids. Attention is focused on the photometry of asteroids, including the phase dependence of brightness, stellar magnitudes, brightness curves, and color characteristics. The primary results of these investigations are examined and the problems of ground-based studies are discussed. It is concluded that the photometric method has provided a large volume of information about the dynamic, geometric, and physical characteristics of asteroids.
