Nonstationary pressure waves in various types of flow of a vapor-liquid medium
Abstract
The principles governing the propagation of pressure waves in various types of vapor-liquid flow are examined, and the main similarity criteria characterizing the wave process are derived. An experimental study is made of the structure and evolution of pressure waves of various lengths and intensities for the nucleate regime over a wide range of the thermophysical properties of the boiling liquid. The results of the study are sufficiently general to be used for analyzing the dynamics of wave propagation in any boiling liquid under various flow regimes.
