Investigation into test rig interference on the Q66 5-hole probe calibrations using the BAe Warton Mk II panel program
Abstract
A panel program was used to confirm that residual flow angles measured with a set of five hole probes are essentially due to the support assembly. The program detects support induced flow angularity at tips of up to 1 deg at high angles of support attitude. The program predicted upwash and sidewash trends agree with experimental observations, although the panel program underestimates the magnitude of the flow angularities.
