Laser with a hollow copper cathode
Abstract
A hollow copper cathode laser (HCL) was developed. A theoretical model of hollow cathode discharges is presented. In the IR wavelength range 720 to 780 nm this laser has several lines which oscillate at low threshold currents. All tests in the UV domain are unsuccessful. Applications of HCL's in the UV and very far UV, and for the incoherent pumping of dye lasers are described.
