Beamwidth control in pyramidal horns
Abstract
Four methods are discussed to control or modify a horn's beamwidth. The methods are: (1) introduction of an exponential ridge; (2) pinwall sidewalls; (3) introducing a dielectric slab in the aperture; and (4) omitting the sidewalls altogether. Measured curves are shown for all cases, giving beamwidth variation with frequency.
