High frequency phase-noise in semiconductor lasers
Abstract
Phase noise in GaAlAs lasers operating in a single longitudinal mode is discussed. The use of short cavities reduces frequency noise over the whole band, suppressing the resonance peak of the laser, when the values of a reference parameter associated to the amplitude of the feedback field and to the round trip time in the external cavity are kept near the maximum allowed value.
