Determination of microwave attenuation due to the influence of atmospheric gases using the radiometric technique
Abstract
A radiometer was constructed for atmospheric radiation measurement at 22 GHz wavelength in a study of the coefficient of microwave attenuation. Simultaneous measurements were taken by meteorologic radiosonde in the Brazilian city of Bauru in January 1983. It was confirmed that this simple model of radioactive transference satisfies the correlation between microwave attenuation and the quantity of water vapor in the atmosphere.
