Approach to equilibrium of a relativistic gas
Abstract
The global behavior of a gas in a purely gravitational fields is analyzed using kinetic theory. For stationary space-time it is shown that the entropy cannot increase indefinitely. This implies that the gas steadily approaches equilibrium. The problem of entropy growth is solved by estimating the integral of entropy through the theory of equimeasurable functions.
