Americal National Standard X3.102 user reference manual
Abstract
A set of 21 standard parameters is defined to provide a uniform means of specifying the performance of data communication systems and services as seen by users. The benefits of using the standard from the viewpoint of the end user, the communication provider, and the communication manager are outlined. The standard's overall approach and are summarized content in informal, non-technical terms. The meaning and importance of each standard parameter are examined in a series of tutorial parameter descriptions. Typical parameter values are presented and their design implications are discussed.
