Calculations of intermittency in self-preserving, free turbulent jets and wakes
Abstract
The performance of a k-epsilon version of the intermittency model of turbulence when used to predict the self preserving axisymmetric jet, plane jet and plane wake was examined. Predictions are made of the velocity variables within the turbulent and irrotational zones; the turbulent kinetic energy and its dissipation rate within the turbulent zone; and the intermittency factor.
