Technical addendum to the study: ERS-1 Mission, Fucino Station. SAR processor based upon EMMA architecture
Abstract
A SAR data processing configuration compatible with ERS-1 (ESA) specifications, which processes a SAR image in 12 min or less is proposed. It is a modular, extendable system, based on the EMMA/2 pattern recognition design. The configuration uses a single-region EMMA/2 multiprocessor, consisting of 2 families, and a VAX-11/750 as host computer. The VAX controls the standard peripheral devices and performs the supervisor tasks.
