Fiber-optic communications systems
Abstract
Basic characteristics of fiber optic data transmission systems are discussed. It is noted that these systems have properties in common with conventional metal cable data transmission systems, but are differential by a particular approach to their estimation and practical realization. This is due to the existence of an optical level in which the signal used is found at a determined moment.
