Computer assessment of electromagnetic means of detecting approaching cruise missile
Abstract
Numerical modeling of beverage and monopole antennas shows that the fields of both antennas have a similar dependence on range and height above ground, with the beverage antenna having slightly greater gain in the forward direction due to its directivity. It is found that the use of multiple beverage antennas closely spaced increases the efficiency and gain in the forward direction for short beverage antennas. For the longer antenna considered for the cruise missile radar, the decrease in directivity for two closely spaced antennas reduced the forward gain.
