The possibilities of application of superconductors in electronics
Abstract
Investigations of the properties of frozen mercury near absolute zero revealed its electrical resistance drops to an unmeasurable value. Other metals, alloys, and compounds possess a similiar property. The electrical resistance of superconducting compounds is so low in comparison with the resistance of metals ordinarily used as conductors that the latter are used as electrical insulation coatings for superconducting conductors.
