Computational methods for complex flowfields
Abstract
The overall objective of this research is the development of solution algorithms for complex flowfields using procedures that take account of, recognize, and couple interacting subdomains. In Task I, non-adaptive embedded mesh solutions of the Euler equations have been obtained for NACA 0012, RAE 2822, and Korn 1 air foils. In Task II adaptive embedded mesh solutions have been obtained for one-dimensional flows with shock waves and a two-dimensional scalar convection-diffusion equation.
