Simulation and analysis of low altitude terrestrial satellites
Abstract
A numerical simulator of attitude motion and related observations for Earth artificial satellites is presented. The purpose is to provide test conditions for attitude determination using statistical procedures. The mathematical model of attitude is a rigid body and includes the perturbations due to interaction with the space environment. The simulated data consist of Sun angles measurements, which are the arc-length separation between the attitude and the Sun, and radio angles measurements which are the arc-length separation between the attitude and the center of Earth.
