Wind data for building ventilation in selected US cities

Wind data for incorporation into natural ventilation of buildings generated for 80 cities in the United States are documented. The source and methodology for generating the data, and an example of an application are presented. The data include average and mean hourly wind speed and direction, annual bin wind data, and monthly bin wind data. The data were derived from the hourly wind speed and direction measurements contained on the Typical Metoerological Year (TMY) and Estimated Typical Meteorological Year (ETMY) weather tapes. Data allow to perform hourly simulations for a building.
