A model for forecasting the country's general use data transmission network
Abstract
The development of the information sciences and the concomitantly growing demand to data transmission services in the telecommunications network makes it necessary to investigate the effects data transmission have on the development of the country's telecommunications network and what the technological and economic consequences of the various forecasts and assumptions concerning, e.g., the number of data transmission subscribers. A method for forecasting development in the data transmission network is developed. The magnitude of the problem, the great number of assumptions requiring testing, as well as the great number of possible variants could be accepted - all of these are the main factors decisive in the necessity for searching for solutions generated by means of computer programs. In this way, the notion has arisen of a computer-generated system for modeling the data transmission net.
