Tunable diode laser development and spectroscopy applications; Proceedings of the Meeting, San Diego, CA, August 25, 26, 1983
Abstract
Aspects of tunable diode laser development are discussed, taking into account tunable diode lasers for 3-30 micron infrared operation, Cd-diffused lead salt diode lasers and their application in multicomponent gas analysis systems, heterojunction stripe geometry lead salt diode lasers grown by molecular beam epitaxy, Pb(1-x)Sn(x)Te lasers with high efficiencies, lasing characteristics of PbSnSeTe-PbSeTe lattice-matched double heterostructure laser diodes, and the development of ion-implantation confined shallow mesa stripe (Pb,Sn)Te/Pb(Te/Se) DH laser diodes. Other topics considered are related to industrial applications, applications for tunable diode laser instrumentation, and molecular spectroscopy applications. Attention is given to tunable diode laser applications to cigarette smoke analysis, automated tunable diode laser monitoring systems, a review of progress in remote sensing by tunable diode laser heterodyne spectroscopy, tunable diode laser optogalvanic spectroscopy of molecules, tunable diode laser spectroscopy of molecules in solids and on surfaces, and measurements of CO in engine exhaust.
