KOSPAS-SARSAT satellite rescue system
Abstract
The Cosmos-1383 artificial Earth satellite was launched. It carries equipment that will be used as part of a system to determine the location of ships and aircraft in distress. This equipment was created and launched into a near Earth orbit in accordance with the plan for the realization of the international KOSPAS-SARSAT project, which is developed jointly by specialists from the the USSR, the United States, Canada and France. The system's effectiveness will be evaluated.
