Wide-band chain-type divider-summators based on quarter-wave lossy couplers
Abstract
Chain-type divider-summators based on quarter-wave lossy couplers are analyzed with allowance for dissipative losses in conductors and dielectrics. It is shown that the occurrence of losses results in a distortion of the symmetry of output frequency characteristics in the divider channels and leads to a decrease in the summator efficiency. An algorithm for optimizing attenuation characteristics of the couplers to minimize the nonuniformity of power division while ensuring maximum efficiency of the device as a whole is presented. The algorithm is illustrated by an examples.
