Calculation of the characteristic impedances of waveguide slot lines
Abstract
Characteristic impedances are calculated in a rigorous manner for three types of wavesguide slot lines, i.e., unilateral, symmetrical, and bilateral. The electrodynamic problem of field distribution in the above lines is solved using the method of partial regions with allowance for edge singularities. The calculated characteristic impedances for the three types of slot lines are compared with the values derived from the voltage and the current. For narrow slots, the two sets of results are in good agreement, whereas considerable disagreement is observed in the case of wide slots.
