A millimeter-band waveguide-dielectric filter with increased sensitivity
Abstract
A waveguide-dielectric filter for low-noise millimeter-band receivers is proposed which ensures an isolation of 50-60 dB between the signal and the image channel, with losses in the operating frequency range kept to a minimum. The filter consists of a set of hollow waveguide sections with pressed-in dielectric resonators that are metal-coated at the ends. It is shown that a 4-5-percent variation of the length of the coupling waveguide sections and a 0.5 percent variation of the resonator thickness have only a minimal effect on the filter characteristics.
