A survey of digital modulation techniques
Abstract
The principles and properties of digital modulation techniques are surveyed, including M-ary techniques, correlative level coding, digital FM, CPFSK, nd narrow band modulation techniques. High-spectrum efficiency is attained by FM-type modulation, while the best power efficiency for bit-by-bit demodulation is attained with PSK, QPSK, and MSK. Correlative coding and error correcting codes are important because of their ability to improve such efficiencies.
