Experiments of disaster communications system using Japan's CS in 20/30 GHz band
Abstract
An experimental test of the Japanese Common Channel System, which uses the CS-2 satellite in the 20/30 GHz band to provide intermediary links between satellite communications networks as counter-measures against natural disasters, is reported. Basic satellite link characteristics were measured and terminal functions were verified. The usefulness of the Common Channel System and the availability of the terminal were demonstrated by the exercise.
