Lasing kinetics in a solid-state ring laser with an additional mirror in the feedback chain
Abstract
A numerical study is made of the effect of coupling coefficients on the kinetics of a ruby ring laser with an additional mirror in the feedback chain. It is shown that there exists a critical coupling value determined by backscattering for which quasi-CW regime operation is not achieved despite its stability. An investigation is made of an algorithm for the modulation of coupling, making it possible to achieve unidirectional quasi-CW lasing.
