Scattering of electromagnetic waves by the edge of a semiinfinite dielectric slab imbedded in an ideally conducting halfspace
Abstract
A solution is obtained to the problem of the scattering of an Epolarized electromagnetic wave by the edge of a semiinfinite dielectric slab imbedded in an ideally conducting halfspace. Integral equations are derived which take into account the geometric characteristics of the structure investigated, which makes it possible to construct a fast algorithm. This in turn makes it possible to use the calculation results as diffraction coefficients in determining the scattering characteristics of metallic bodies partly coated by dielectric.
