Theory of the stimulated scattering of electromagnetic waves in a waveguide by a relativistic electron beam
Abstract
A theoretical study is presented of the coherent scattering of E-waves in a circular waveguide of finite length by an annular relativistic electron beam in the approximation of a strong longitudinal magnetic field. A determination is made of the gain coefficients of the scattered waves in cases of resonance (Raman) and nonresonance (modified) scattering. Limits are obtained to the monoenergeticity of beam electrons, and the scattering efficiency is estimated.
